A Union man was arrested after police say he pointed a gun at his girlfriend's daughter and mother after their remarks about a Valentine's Day present.

Jack Jennings, Junior, 66, is charged with pointing and presenting a firearm by Union Public Safety after the incident Thursday at a home on Hamlet Street.

Jennings girlfriend says he daughter and mother wanted to see a ring that the suspect gave her for Valentine's Day according to the police incident report.

The officer wrote the grandmother made remarks that the ring looked like it "came out of a bubble gum machine" and "she couldn't see no diamond in it."

Both witnesses say Jennings came from another room in the house - armed with a gun - and said "you don't talk about what I buy." Both women left the home.

The grandmother later told police she was kidding about the ring.

Jennings was arrested by Union Police on a warrant that states he pointed the firearm at the two women.
