Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested After Manhunt In Newberry County, SC

A man wanted for robbing a 73-year-old man in Newberry County was arrested after a manhunt.

  Christopher Walton David, 43, of Chapin, was charged with strong armed robbery and is facing charges of assault and battery on a police officer while resisting arrest. A man wanted for robbing a 73-year-old man while he was pumping gas in Newberry County was arrested after lengthy manhunt Thursday afternoon.

Newberry County Sheriff's Off. investigators were searching for David, who was wanted for robbing a man at the Quick Food Mart in Pomaria on Wednesday, on Lazy Brook Road in Chapin after they received information that he was in the area. An investigator found David and attempted to arrest him. However, David resisted and managed to break free and run into the woods.

Officers from the Sheriff's Office, Lexington County Sheriff's Office, Chapin Police Department and State Law Enforcement Division all responded and utilized bloodhounds and the SLED helicopter during the search. Ninety minutes later, David was found hiding under a thick underbrush on Meadowlark Road and was taken into custody without further incident.

Tyler Joseph Normandin was among six teens charged in a sexual assault investigation.

 

Brandon Peralta was among six teens charged in a sexual assault investigation.

 A School Resource Office at West-Oak High School received information Monday after a volleyball game about a party that had taken place at a home on Rodgers Road in Seneca late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The officer received information that a student who attends the school may have been sexually assaulted at the party. After meeting with the victim, the officer noticed injuries to the victim and the case was turned over to sheriff's office investigators.  18-year-old Tyler Joseph Normandin, of Fair Play; 17-year-old Brandon Peralta, of Seneca; three unidentified 16-year-old's and a unidentified 15-year-old were Arrested and Charged in connection with the attack, which allegedly occurred on October 12.

 Warrants Show that Normandin is accused of enticing, advising, inviting, ordering and encouraging others to perform the sexual assault on the teenage victim while she was helpless or mentally incapacitated. The warrants further state that Peralta engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim by using force or coercion while knowing that she was helpless, mentally incapacitated or mentally defective.

   6 people have been Hospitalized after a Car Flew into a Home in Greenville County.

 A Juvenile, whose name cannot be disclosed due to his age, was driving a Nissan Sedan on South Washington Ave. when he drove off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and tree and then hit a Home. 

 The Driver of the Car and Five Passengers, including Three Juveniles, were Transported to a Hospital by Ambulance. 

 The Woman who Lives at the Home was Not at Home at the time of the Wreck.

 The Juvenile was Charged with Driving too Fast for Conditions and Violation of a Beginners Permit.

  Man Arrested for Setting his Home on Fire with his Mom still Inside.

On October 1 firefighters were called to Parks Lane in Union for a House Fire.

Union County Deputies and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Investigated the Fire and determined it had been started with accelerants'.

William Allen Wallace, 41, was interviewed by SLED and admitted he started the Fire.

He was taken into custody on October 2 and Charged with Arson 3rd Degree and Two Counts of Attempted Murder.

 Attempted Murder Charges were Filed because Two Elderly Females were Inside the Home, Asleep while the Fire was Started. One of the Women was Wallace's Mother.

Wallace was previously charged with Arson 3rd degree in July of 2010. He pled guilty and served two years probation.  //  ??
