Ex. Anderson Co. Sheriff Shot During Armed Robbery
Former Sheriff Gene Taylor returning to his Apartment, Woods Lake, around 8:30 p.m. when 2 Masked Men Approached him Demanding Money. Taylor was Hit in the Head then Shot in the Leg when he refused their demands.
Taylor has 16 years in Law Enforcement Career.
"He deliberately, with all intent, put it jammed up against my thigh, I got powder burns," Taylor said. "It was like a sledgehammer."
Suspects were said to be : Sixteen to 20 Years Old and Black Males. One had a Bandana on. The other one had a full-face Halloween-Type Mask. Both of them 5 foot-10 to 6 foot-1.
Suspects are Still at Large ....
