As an Irishman who knows for a fact some of my ancestors
were sold into slavery, thank you. I'm tired of hearing how my
ancestors who were victims of slavery are somehow responsible
for slavery even though some fought off the boat in the civil war
to end slavery.
I have A LOT of Irish blood flowing through my veins. The Irish slaves
were absolutely hated by everyone here in America. It was not unusual
to see help wanted signs that read, "No Irish need apply". Irish were
treated worse than dogs. In fact, there were places that allowed dogs
and not Irish.
Many Irish slaves were shipped in crates, like animals. These crates
were roughly 3'X 4'. They were stacked on the decks of the ships and
their inhabitants were subject to the elements and sewage from others.
The evil of man is not determined by the color of their skin, but by the treatments of those around them. Irish people are among the fairest of
skin. Africans are among the darkest of skin. Both have been abused,
and both have abused. If schools would show history in its true light,
this would be evident. The powers that be, won't have it. They thrive
on animosity, hatred and inflicting chaos and sorrow. Woe to them
when the day comes that the Light of the World, Jesus Christ returns
to judge the quick and the dead.
God be with you brothers and sisters of all colors. Remember, if we
can't love one another here, there is no place for us in heaven.
