30-year-old Travelers Rest man is facing charges in connection with Internet crimes involving children, according to the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
Walter Thomas Alexander is charged with 21 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor third degree, according to warrants from the Travelers Rest Police Department. He faces a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment on each count, the attorney general’s office said.
Alexander is accused of possessing a hard drive with a video of child pornography, according to warrants.
The Travelers Rest Police Department, a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, acting on a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, conducted the investigation that led to the man’s arrest, the attorney general’s office said.
The suspect was arrested by the United States Marshals Service in Thomson, Ga.
