I was a med student staying at LSU dorm 10 th. floor on
Perdido St. and watched the helicopter flying by near eye
level as it circled back and forth. Later became US Army
flight surgeon, and was privileged to know and care for
many rotary wing aviators and personnel...an absolutely
outstanding group!
This man is the definition of a warrior. He saw a chance to
defend the innocent and said "Screw the consequences."
Lt. Gen. Chuck Pitman. A true warrior living up to his
Military Oath to defend this country against ALL enemies,
whether foreign or DOMESTIC. Rest In Peace Sir.
Never heard this heroic story until now. Thanks! I think you
deserve a medal for bringing Col. Pitman to our attention.
