HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The woman convicted in a high-profile missing person case in Horry County wants a new trial.

Documents show that Tammy Moorer filed post-conviction relief on Thursday.

Juries found Tammy and her husband, Sidney Moore, guilty of kidnapping Heather Elvis in 2013.

They are both serving 30-year prison sentences.

“We see it all the time, we see it every day of every week,” Richardson said.

Richardson added that most of these requests are also not granted.
