My first manager laughed that one of my first patients was about to max out their policy and that we'd no longer have to "worry about it." This was a pediatric patient with heavy duty, serious health issues and I was trying to help the child's mother with denied claims. I worked that much harder for every patient I was assigned to in order to work around their system. I'll never forget what that manager did. Disgusting. If you're in Healthcare and that's your approach, do us all a favor and find a new profession.
