God intervened on my mothers behalf when I was born. 

In 2001 at 16 I traveled to Chicago to meet my birth mom for the first time. I remember being excited because I wanted her to tell me who my dad was. My mother explained to me that she was sold by my step father for drugs. I remember the lump in my throat feeling like it was stuck as my brain began to process what that meant. My poor mother was being violated while pregnant with me and God intervened
