The officers found Howell near his girlfriend’s home in Belton and tried to stop him, Young said.
A chase began when Howell refused to stop an officer, Young said.
He said Howell ran through a stop sign at Highway 247 and Highway 25, where he hit two passing vehicles.
Howell then ran away but was taken into custody by Belton officers with help from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Department.
Neither of the motorists that Howell hit were injured, Young said.
Howell was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital in Anderson and then taken to the Anderson County Detention Center.
Young said Howell was out on bond for burglary and failure to stop from an incident last month in Belton.
He is now faces the following charges of grand larceny, assault and battery, failure to stop and resisting arrest.
