The retrial for Sidney Moorer, which was originally scheduled for Monday, August 29, has been delayed. A new retrial date has not yet been set.
Moorer is accused of kidnapping Heather Elvis in 2013.
Moorer is currently serving a five-month jail sentence for violating a gag order in the case. He gave an exclusive interview to our sister station, WBTW, on the second day of his original trial. For that interview, Moorer reached out to the station saying he wanted to speak about surveillance video shown in his trial, which was video of him buying a pregnancy test the night that Elvis disappeared.
Moorer said he bought that pregnancy test for his wife, Tammy, who is also charged in Elvis’s disappearance.
Elvis disapeared on December 18, 2013 from the Peachtree Boat Landing in Horry County.
Moorer admitted during his first trial that he and Elvis were having an affair. Elvis’s coworkers said Elvis ended the relationship shortly before she disappeared.
No one has seen nor heard from Elvis since the night she disappeared.
