A 20-year-old man was kidnapped and robbed by a man who he later identified from a lineup, according to the Gaffney Police Department.

Police said the victim had just cashed a check at 406 South Logan Street in Gaffney and was getting into his truck when a man got into the passenger side of the truck.

The 20-year-old said the man told him to take him to the West End, so he drove the man to Sarratt Street, and stopped when the man told him to, near Providence Street.   The victim said the man then told him to give him $30.  He said he handed over the cash and the man got out of the truck and walked up the road.

The 20-year-old was very shaken by the robbery, and after he went home and told his stepfather what happened, they called police.

The victim was able to identify the suspect from a photo lineup as 38-year-old Marquis Barnette Holmes of Gaffney.

Officers said they found Holmes and talked to him and he turned himself in at the Gaffney Police Department.  Holmes is charged with kidnapping and strong arm robbery.
